A-STEP 2030 research outputs at Engineers Ireland Academic Society

Representatives from the A-STEP 2030 project joined the Engineers Ireland's community for the Academic Society conference on 17th February 2022.

Dr Una Beagon, representing TU Dublin as a partner on the A-STEP 2030 presented on the results of Activity 1, namely the competences that engineers will need to solve the SDGs.  She highlighted the need for technical and non-technical skills and the importance of attitudes and values in engineering students in order to meet the needs of the future.

The team also highlighted some of the student outputs from the A-STEP 2030 Summer School where students were given an opportunity to develop future orientated skills and scenario planning and created visions of engineering education in the future.

The webinar attracted over 100 academics from around the world and is available on the Engineers Ireland repository. The presentation on A-STEP 2030 starts at 12.49.
