Alborg University

Alborg University

Alborg University (AAU) was inaugurated in 1974 and is thus a reform university and today AAU has nearly 20,000 students. AAU offers a variety of educational programmes at all levels within engineering, science, medicine, social science and humanities. One of Aalborg University’s trademarks is the problem-based, project-organized project work (PBL), which is applied in all study programmes throughout the university, including all engineering programmes. Using this approach a great part of semester teaching and student work revolves around analysing and solving complex interdisciplinary real-life problems.

Aalborg University emphasizes interdisciplinary and international cooperation in education and research across professional, institutional and geographical borders. AAU currently consolidates and further develops its profile as a dynamic and innovative research and educational institution oriented towards the surrounding world. It is characterised by combining a keen engagement in local, regional, and national issues with an active commitment to international collaboration.
