Metropolia (MUAS) is Finland’s largest University of Applied Sciences with 16,700 students and 1,000 staff members. It educates professionals in the fields of Business, Culture, Engineering and Health Care and Social Services. In 2016, 2,560 students graduated with a Bachelor's degree and 410 with a Master’s degree from 67 degree programmes.
Over 90 % of the graduates are employed one year after graduation, showing the relevance of Metropolia education to the Finnish work life. The language of tuition is Finnish (55 programmes) or English (12 programmes). In addition, Metropolia provides open University of Applied Sciences studies, summer courses and courses preparing immigrants for MUAS.

Internalization is integral to the operations in Metropolia and its international network is active and extensive. The long experience of high quality, student-centered tuition was recognized e.g. by the European Commission with the ECTS label 2013-2016 and by the Finnish Education Evaluation Centre with the FINEEC Audit Quality Label 2017-2023.

Metropolia University of Applied Sciences continuously audits the attractiveness of its own educational programmes with regard to the students and their working environments. Current projects include studies relating to admission to the university, progression through programmes, opportunities for practical experience, international internships, and employment opportunities. Metropolia's students are required to take part in innovative projects which are run jointly with external partners enhancing links with industry.
